We take a very small sample of wine (1 ml) from the bottle - without touching or moving the cork - and analyse it using our unique GA winePROOF method.

GA corkPROOF tests the cork taint of the wine without touching or moving the cork. So you know about the cork smell even before you buy or open the bottle.

To get at the contents of the bottle, the way via the bottle opening is a risk, especially with older wines, as the cork could crumble or at least be damaged in its integrity. For this reason, we use a protected method with a 1mm laser hole in the shoulder of the bottle. This vaporises the glass and does not create dust. Once the 1ml wine sample has been taken, the 1mm laser hole is immediately sealed with glass and a food grade polymer and sealed with the NFC tag.
